The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) offers a unique experience to nurses who have completed a recognised first year graduate nurse program in a rural or metropolitan hospital setting or has equivalent experience.  Participants will undertake four rotations within a 12-month program ranging from a large regional hospital to smaller rural and remote health care settings.

The program has been developed to provide opportunities for 2nd year postgraduates, however may be extended to 3rd year Registered Nurses if capacity exists.  The program aims to consolidate skills and competencies, through advanced clinical placements and access to education and development opportunities.

Further attractions of the program include paid travel, subsidised accommodation and a wonderful opportunity to truly experience what country WA has to offer in health and tourism.

Ocean to Outback program is offered in March of each year.
