Volunteers excited to 'Meet and Greet' patients

As the first patients enter the new Busselton Health Campus next week they will receive a warm welcome thanks to a new volunteering scheme.

Starting from Monday, anyone entering the main foyer will be met by one of our friendly, dedicated volunteers who will help them find their way around the new building.

Jeremy Higgins, Operations Manager South West Coastal said, “A friendly volunteer greets patients and visitors when they walk through the doors and assists and directs them to where they wish to go.”

“Coming into this fantastic new facility as a patient or a visitor can be quite daunting.  The building is almost double the size of the old hospital and so our meet and greet volunteers will assist people by guiding or even escorting them to where they need to be.

“The 40 Meet and Greet volunteers are part of a team of more than a 130 people who selflessly devote their time to support hospital staff, patients and families through various roles including the District Health Advisory Committee (DHAC), Busselton Hospital Inc. and the Hospital Auxiliary.

“All our volunteers will play an important role in helping staff make the Busselton Health Campus experience better for patients and visitors.”
