Background

In 2010 extensive planning occurred to identify the health care needs for the Gascoyne Health District. It took into account the expected growth in Carnarvon and surrounding areas and included extensive community consultation.

Stage 1 of the Carnarvon Health Campus redevelopment was completed in 2008. It included a dedicated maternity area, a palliative care suite and upgrades to meet fire and cyclone standards.  In 2010 a CT scanner was also installed.

The redevelopment was officially opened by Health Minister John Day in August 2016.
