The Onslow Health Service redevelopment includes a brand new hospital and new facilities for key health services, brought together in a modern, healthcare hub.

Construction commenced in 2016 and is expected to be completed in 2018.

The $41.8million redevelopment includes $19.8million from the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program and $22million from Chevron Australia's $250million commitment to infrastructure improvements in Onslow.

New public parking off McGrath Avenue

Public parking, inpatients and emergency entrance to Onslow Hospital are now accessed via McGrath Avenue. Please follow the on-site signage.

Improved facilities for key health services

Local residents and visitors to the Onslow Health Service will experience the comfort and amenity of a modern, purpose-built and architect-designed health care hub.

  • Purpose-built rooms for child health, community mental health, community health nursing, physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and counselling.
  • State-of-the-art telehealth links for access to a wide range of specialists.

 

New and expanded emergency department and hospital

When complete, the Onslow Health Service will provide expanded emergency and outpatient facilities to meet current and future health needs of this rapidly growing coastal town.

The new hospital will include:

  • Expanded three-bay emergency department (two acute care and one resuscitation bay)
  • Six-bed medical inpatient unit with modern, single rooms
  • Modern entrance, waiting area and triage to allow for better patient flow and greater privacy
  • Brand new information communications and technology and telehealth links for instant access to emergency specialists in Hedland Health Campus, Karratha Health Campus and Perth hospitals
  • Purpose-built digital imaging department
  • Modern, comfortable and purpose-built outpatient centre
  • New dental clinic
  • New facilities for hospital support areas, administration support and a new morgue

Consultation

A Community Reference Group has been established with members invited from the local community including the Shire of Ashburton, local Aboriginal groups, Police, St John Ambulance, Aboriginal Medical Service, Silver Chain, Home and Community Care (HACC) clients and the District Health Advisory Council members.
