Of the 41 finalists named in this year’s WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards, six individuals and two teams are representing WA Country Health Service.

Each year, country nurses and midwives show that country healthcare workers well and truly hold their own among the best in the state – across public and private healthcare providers as well as not-for profit organisations.

WA Country Health Service's 2025 WANMEA finalists are:

  • Derby Maternity Team: Excellence in Person Centred Care – Team Award
  • Midwest Renal Team: Excellence in Person Centred Care – Team Award
  • Janice Forrester, Kimberley: Excellence in Leadership – Established
  • Sian Skillcorn, Central Office: Excellence in Midwifery
  • Samara Sekuloff, Midwest: Excellence in Aboriginal Health
  • Denise Hughes, Wheatbelt: Excellence in Rural and Remote Nursing
  • Karen Stewart, Midwest: Excellence in Enrolled Nursing
  • Abbey Robinson, Kimberley: Consumer Appreciation Award

Winners, including the prestigious 2025 WA Nurse or Midwife of the Year and the recipient of the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Honour, will be announced at a gala event on Saturday, 10 May 2025.
