State Government announces additional investment in Bunbury Regional Hospital redevelopment

The State Government has announced an additional $20.3 million has been approved for the $471.5 million Bunbury Regional Hospital redevelopment.
This additional investment will prioritise key infrastructure enhancements, including:
- A 15-bed Emergency Department Short Stay Unit
- Helipad landing site.
Once complete, Bunbury Regional Hospital will be the biggest in country WA, strengthening its role as a vital healthcare hub for the entire South West.
The redevelopment will significantly expand capacity, delivering additional medical and intensive care beds, an expanded emergency department, increased operating theatre capacity, as well as new and expanded maternity, birthing and neonatal services.
The project will also deliver WA’s first regional teaching, training, and research centre, creating new opportunities for education and innovation in healthcare.
Planning is well underway, with the concept design completed and the schematic design phase on track for finalisation in the second quarter of 2025. Multiplex Perkins Joint Venture have completed site mobilisation, with construction underway in the Central Energy Plant and works proceeding within the clinical tower footprint.
