Stacey Mauchline celebrates 25 years of working off the beaten path

A lot has happened in the past 25 years – the rise of smartphones, the fall of video stores, the rise and fall of skinny jeans, for example. 

This year also marks an extraordinary milestone for Stacey Mauchline, who is celebrating 25 years of dedicated service with WA Country Health Service.

Her journey began in 2001 as a fresh-faced school-based trainee from Northam Senior High School. 

Stacey gained experience at both Northam Regional Hospital and Avon Community Health Service through the Structured Workplace Learning Program.

It was clear from the outset that Stacey’s commitment and enthusiasm would pave the way for a remarkable career.

After completing her traineeship, she joined the payroll team – a decision which laid the foundation for what would become a diverse and accomplished career within WA Country Health Service. 

Choosing to remain in a regional role, Stacey stepped into the position of Secretary to the Human Resources Manager, demonstrating both loyalty to her community and a passion for supporting regional health services.

Stacey has built an impressive portfolio over the past two and a half decades, taking on a variety of roles across the organisation which include, HR Officer, HR Consultant, Project Officer – Infrastructure, Procurement and Contract Management Coordinator, and Business Manager. 

More recently, Stacey was successfully appointed as the Regional Manager Procurement Contracts – a role which reflects her expertise, adaptability and commitment to continuous growth.

“I am very honoured to have been celebrated,” Stacey said. 

“WA Country Health Service has and continues to be a wonderful place to work with all the different opportunities that have been presented to me.

“These, along with the wonderful people who have supported me, have provided me with a deep sense of gratitude and invaluable personal and professional growth. 

“I look forward to continuing to grow and kick goals in my new role.”

Unsurprisingly, it’s not just her colleagues and community singing her praises. In July 2020, Stacey was formally recognised for her outstanding efforts during the WA Country Health Service COVID-19 response. In a time of unprecedented challenges, Stacey’s willingness to step up played an important role in protecting the health and wellbeing of the people in her community.

In December 2020, Stacey received another prestigious accolade as the inaugural recipient of the Wheatbelt Compassion Employee Recognition Award. 

The award was judged by a panel of her peers, Regional Director Wheatbelt and consumer group members, who acknowledged her unwavering commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care.

Coordinator Infrastructure and Environment Training and Development Kerrie Cook said Stacey is known among colleagues for embodying the values of WA Country Health Service and always being the first to offer a helping hand.

“Widely respected for her considerate, supportive and inclusive approach, Stacey contributes not only to organisational success but also to a positive and collaborative workplace culture,” Kerrie said. 

“Her 25-year milestone is not just a celebration, but a testament to her dedication, adaptability and genuine care for others. 

“Stacey’s career serves as an inspiring example of the impact that commitment, compassion and community focus can have within regional health services.”
