New health service taking shape 22 August 2017 Construction of the new Warren Health Service in Manjimup is over half-way with rammed-earth walls and roof now completed. South West Regional Director Kerry Winsor said construction started in September last year and despite inclement weather through winter, the project was still running to plan. “The community will be pleased to see the new health service taking shape and to know that the new build is on track to be completed and operational by the middle of 2018,” Ms Winsor said. “Demolition of the existing hospital, site clean-up and landscaping is planned to be completed towards the end of 2018.” Work has now started in earnest on the inside of the building with the focus being on preparing the walls and installing ceilings and windows. GPs inspect Katanning Health Service build 01 August 2017 Local general practitioners (GPs) were among a number of health workers invited to tour the new build section of the $32 million redevelopment of the Katanning Health Service recently. WA Country Health Service Regional Director David Naughton said the tour provided a good opportunity to show the local GPs what facilities would be available and to orientate them with the new emergency department where they would be providing on-call assistance in emergency situations. “The new build will incorporate a state-of-the-art emergency department with five treatment bays, two of which will be equipped with Emergency Telehealth Services, a procedure room and a consultation room,” Mr Naughton said. “Located adjacent to the emergency department will be a new medical imaging department and an expanded outpatient facility with increased telehealth capacity allowing patients to speak... -
Merredin ED reaches half-way point 14 July 2017 Merredin Health Service’s new emergency department has become a reality with construction well underway. Builder chosen for Williams Health Centre 10 July 2017 Pindan Contracting Pty Ltd has won the contract to redevelop the Williams Health Centre as part of an extensive capital works program taking place under the Southern Inland Health Initiative. Home-grown talent produces healing art 10 July 2017 A well regarded West Australian artist who was born in the Wheatbelt town of Cunderdin has been fittingly commissioned to produce artwork for the new Cunderdin Health Centre under the State Government’s Percent for Art Scheme. WA Country Health Service Wheatbelt Regional Director Sean Conlan said Jennifer Hopewell’s submission focused on producing artwork that reflected the bushland and surrounding farming settlements in the Cunderdin area. “Jennifer’s artwork will beautify the Cunderdin Health Centre and will be enjoyed by both visitors and staff alike,” Mr Conlan said. “Using a full-colour glass printing process, Jennifer’s artwork will be transferred onto windows and automatic sliding doors to provide privacy and aid in orientation and wayfinding around the health centre. “She will also produce a suite of aluminium screens which will be ...
