Albany team celebrate 50 years of Glenda Williams
Albany-based Senior Aboriginal Health Worker Glenda Williams has marked a monumental milestone, notching up 50 years with WA Country Health Service.
Glenda has worked continuously in various roles, including as a Community Health Worker at Nutrition House with the diabetes education team, and with Child Development Services as a key link for Aboriginal families to access the service.
Now, as a much-loved member of the Great Southern Aboriginal Health Service team, she was the guest of honour at a special morning tea to celebrate the occasion.
A/Executive Director Great Southern Jacinta Herbert presented Glenda with a certificate of appreciation and paid tribute to her incredible career.
“Glenda's professional life has been defined by her tireless advocacy for her community,” Jacinta said.
“Over the years, she has witnessed and championed significant improvements in the local Aboriginal Health space, proactively educating community members on vital health options and lifestyle choices.”
Glenda also navigated the demanding roles of a single parent and carer for her beloved elderly mother, demonstrating remarkable resilience and commitment both professionally and personally.
“Glenda’s journey began as a young woman, and we now honour her as a respected elder,” Jacinta added.
“Her life is a testament to grace and strength—well done, Glenda, and congratulations on this significant milestone.”
