Patient Assisted Travel Scheme - PATS
The Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS) provides financial subsidies to eligible country WA residents. These subsidies help reduce the cost of travelling to the closest specialist health service when that service is not available locally.
PATS subsidies may be provided for:
- Travel
- Accommodation
- A support person
Subsidies do not cover all travel costs. Applicants are responsible for any difference between the subsidy amount and the actual cost of travel or accommodation.
All applications are assessed in line with current PATS policy and eligibility criteria. More information is available through the links below.
For detailed information about PATS policies, eligibility and subsidies, refer to the PATS Handbook (PDF) or contact PATS.
The Patient Assisted Travel Scheme is funded through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program and is administered by WA Country Health Service.
