Nursing and Midwifery TRAVEL Program

Transition to Rural - AdVEnture & Lifestyle

The WACHS Nursing and Midwifery TRAVEL Program is an amalgamation of the previously popular WACHS nursing and midwifery "Ocean to Outback" and "Country to Coast" Programs.

The program offers a unique experience for a working adventure and career development. Participants will undertake three rotations over the 12 months, through a variety of rural and/or remote settings. Context may range from a large regional centre to a small rural/remote hospital. Rotation opportunities may be influenced by past clinical experience.

Registered and Enrolled nurses and midwives who have a minimum of 12 months recent acute care nursing or midwifery experience are eligible to apply, with program intakes several times per year.

Please ensure you apply for the correct pool - either Registered Nurse or Midwife - these are advertised separately. Program applications will be open for several weeks for each intake period.

It is anticipated that intakes will occur each year in late March, July and November. It is anticipated that applications for each intake will be advertised approximately three to four months prior to commencement.
